What is freeform? Freeform is to crochet and and knitting what improvisation is to acting. At some time, 
maybe even only a few moments ago someone taught you to crochet or knit or you even taught yourself. 
Now with what you know, and what you have yet to learn, pick up a hook or a needle and let your free spirit loose.
Use what you know, what you imagine, what you feel and what you have in your stash to start a freeform adventure.
There are no patterns in freeform but you can make use of any stitches you know, motifs you have made and best of all 
a whole cornucopia of yarn. This is a chance to use all those precious pieces of yarns that you couldn't bear to throw out. 
Freeform means we don't start at the beginning and work back and forth or round and round. We start here and work in 
different directions, three dimensional as well as two dimensional. Some people work all in one piece, others work on 
individual "scrumbles" and join them together. Some people work in vibrant contrasting colours, others have a more subtle 
touch. Just like us, our work comes in all diffent shapes, sizes and colours. You can make something useful like a bag or a 
waistcoat / vest or just an abstract piece of art.

What do we do? We have a discussion group where we talk about everything that has to do about FREEFORM and related 
topics. Currently we have almost 1500 members throughout the world. We also like to meet in the physical as well as in the 
virtual world. These meetings often take place at conferences or shows where we can spread the idea of FREEFORM to 
others and absorb other crafts and skills that all add to our FREEFORM work.

How can you join us?
We have a discussion group where we talk about everything that has to do about freeforming.
We have many pictures on our Yahoo Group site, we organize freeform exchanges and share our ideas.
The members of this group are all at varying places on our FREEFORM journeys.           
Some of us have been doing this for years, some have just begun, others have yet to start, but are full of enthusiasm 
for FREEFORM. We make many different things: wall hangings, clothing, accessories, sculptures, etc.
